So Erk was all like "we should play that" after seeing the crit tables of Dark Heresy. So I figured, why the fuck not.

I have both Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader.

I'd suggest a Rogue Trader game. More freedom. Like, complete freedom. However, not as difficult for a gamemaster to run Dark Heresy since it's pretty much "do this, or die."

The way the game works is more or less everything is done using 2d10 one with 1-10 and the other representing 1-00
to get d100.

You stats and skills are added together to create your total and you roll the %die to see if you succeed or fail. You have to roll BELOW the target amount. (example of skill being Driving=5 + Ag=35 = total 40

For example I am in a biker chase I need to roll in order to shoot a gang member riding a combat bike, my WS is 36 but as he is a fast moving target so there is a modifier of say -10 so I need to roll lower than 26 in order to hit the dude on the bike with my las-pistol so as you can see the chances are pretty low on me being able to hit the guy.

Now if I remember correctly.

WS = Weapon skill such as shooting your gun uses this stat/skill

BS = Not sure what that is really, probably some form of relevant skill involving some action like battle skill maybe?

S = Strength self explanatory.

T = Toughness, acting in damage resistance and effecting your defence.

Ag = Agility.

Int = Intelligence, important for actions like repairing machinery and the like.

Per = Perception.

WP = Will Power, this is rather important for anyone as it relates to resistance to corruption and going insane, as well as resistance to stuff like say, Psykers. The higher youw will power the less likely you are to go mental shoot your self in teh head booloo if some deranged cultist decided to perform a ritual and summon a lesser demon right in front of you.

Fel = No idea.

Wounds = Is basically your HP.

Fate Points = Is basically Edge or auto success button, USE IT WISELY!

Insanity = Bad, gain too much and your likely to loose control of you character and do something real bad.

Corruption = also bad, gain too much and again your likely to be hunted and burnt to the stake for heresy, unless of course you would prefer to become a servant of the Dark Gods and feel funky pain in a good way.

Thrones = Nor sure, resources of various kinds or reputation maybe?

Any XP gained during play is spent to increase stats and skills with each at a certain cost.

But enough ramble.

Mostly correct. BS is for all ranged weapons, though you'll want the appropriate talents for each type to avoid penalties (laser/bolter/etc).

I have volunteered to GM first.
In addition to rolling up chars, everyone should detail how they ended up in the service of the Inquisitor. Singular. In DH we play a full fledged Inquisitor's agents. Low ranking ones. People of interest and a degree of skill he's come across and recruited.

Tom your char sheet just has female and homeworld on it.

Thrones is more like the value of the currency you have. There's thousands of currencies in the imperium, from polished bug shells to platinum chips. Colloquially they're called Thrones. It doesn't really affect play, unless you make a fortune on a savage deatworld and try to buy a house on a hive world with your bags of petrified rat tails.

It's not like you can't do it now. That site only rolls the chars, you still need to put them on a character sheet you can edit during play.

Lol yeah the Guardsmen kit comes with a Las Rifle as standard anyway so ghetto primitive weapons could come in handy.

funny thing is though that if i remember right Arbiters are effectively police officers for Spires and the like and they also look like Robo Cop.

If things go shits up witch they more likely will I can roll one and be all Robo-cop style.

You'll learn. Everything not human is heretical and alien and must be destroyed by fire according to the ecclesiarchy. Eclesiary? Eccliseary? The Priests of the Cult of the God-Emperor of Mankind. Everything is big, bad, and horrible. Criminals are mind wiped and turned to slaves. Dead people's parts are used for things.. like servitors. (Robots made of human parts basically.) And nothing is bigger or badder or horribler than the Holy Inquistion. An inquisitor has the power to purge entire planets if they see reason for it. Irreverisble taint is the most usual cause. Fuck the 65 billion people living on it. The Imperium of Man is a horrible corrupt perversion of what the Emperor tried to do.

To question the word of the church is heresy and damns you. The Tech Priests of Mars only get away with it because they make the goodies. So the Cult priests say the Omnissiah is actually an aspect of the Emperor, and the Tech Priests don't argue since they get to do what they want if they play along.
