Oh yes I saw a video of this and it may well be in the one linked, but the collision was pretty impressive with a montage of ship building then another ship ploughs straight into the side of another and debris flows all about the place and chaos ensues.

I think maybe it's a bit pricey for what it can do thus far, but it might be one to watch for.

Tbh, this with space station 13 transplanted into it. It would be manic.

Oh shit! Dynamic collisions and stuff. This looks really interesting!
Thanks Bill - I'll probably get this regardless.

I've honestly only just started to learn how to play it properly, or rather started to learn the classes.

I can't do much thus far, but now that the servers are reasonably stable and lag free it's a lot more fun to try.

Have read up more on this

Apparently the Devs are kinda flakes and bailed on a game they sold pre-orders for and then didn't deliver, nor refunded pre-orders

Pretty dick move

My concernTM is that they design an ok alpha game and then drop it, which from the looks might still be ok, but I can predict now I would quickly stop playing if there are issues and no hope of fixes etc

Idk, just a thought

I think the whole lame ass presales thing is somewhat common these days.

Idk, I wasn't really even suggesting it myself, I just knew it'd interest some of you.

Whats that? invade other peoples servers and reprogram things to fuck their shit up and troll the fuck out of the?.

You got it.

Just program a resource drone to gather from their cargo bays and jettison everything into space.

That.....actually wouldn't be too hard to do....

Tell it too target other factions and dock with any cargo bays, transfer all contents to its own bay, activate connectors to jettison load into space. Then fire MG's into warheads strapped to itself....can't leave a trace

We will play Bane, I promise....Timezones...

For now, you and Zwei play and figure things out, its fun to do it on your own...then look up on the internet to see how what you did is crap....me and Ice have had months to play and tinker so most of the things we either have done or at least know you can do, it never hurts to get new eyes on things though

I've got some Ideas for "big" ships....corvette sized at least, much bigger than that and building becomes prohibitive in survival.

I've also got a good fighter chassi, been playing with that since October, so, I think I got that shit down....The front is moddable, cockpit is simi protected, Decent thrust if you use light armor blocks, its a good missile carrier if you replace the outer blocks with Heavy armor, but it kills the maneuverability. plenty of reactors (2) one is a spare, a ingot in each will last forever. Thruster configuration is compact and has enough in each direction. 2 gyro's give more than enough rotation even if one is shot away......the only thing is that currently I have is build with a single landing gear, this is enough to stationary landings but if you plan to carry on a ship it isn't enough to hold them, the LG breaks....for the Drill mods I placed 2 up front. For carrier fighters I think removing the single in the back and placing 2 on either side would work and still protect them.

Its not an ultra light, those, don't really work that great...it is a light fighter, so if you wanted to experiment with a heavy fighter bomber that is something we will need as my fighter is good but the cockpit can be shot away......

On the other hand you might come up with something that works better, though, I did try and keep aesthetics in mind smiling smiley

My one advice is :

If you are experimenting, play in creative mode, with copy paste on etc....survival is fun, but tedious to build things that explode, creative lets you try lots of designs quickly, once you get something you like then try in survival, as you'll need to remember your design and build it...meaning it can't be too complicated to remember, or too complex/expensive to build in time and resources....

EDIT:
Also, Missile tubes...they must be loaded from the front, manually...I think they can only hold six missiles a piece and they are expensive to build (the rockets), They will also buff MG's eventually...something to consider

Funny thing is, doesn't look much faster than using a hand grinder, except if you make several on a ship. Or that mangler bed.

-I would if I could, but I can't so I won't.
Re: Might interest those of you who play StarMade.

I think the point is

STEPS
1. Build bed of grinders
2. Add power and gravity generators
3. Build separate ship that runs on tracks to the grinder bed.
3. attach thrusters, mass block, cockpit to second ship, add power

See below:

Now you can simple fly a ship into the space, turn the power on the lower section with all the grinders on. Turn The top ship MASS block on and it should start pushing the ship into the grinders....

add stop blocks and you could then just leave while it did its thing, thrusters would allow the machine to be reset

Connect all the grinders with tubes and conveyor blocks and then access parts from a central storage area...or where you were building a new ship.....

Also, with turrets being a thing...you might actually survive to get into a ship in a boarding action from a piracy ship with grinders on the front than getting out and manually trying to grind your way in...

....also also, build a giant grinder ship and then go mining the random spawn in ships....

Me and zwei have tested using the escape pods, with docking clamps, to capture passing ships for salvage.

Its risky, but if you can get at least two legs locked in, you can throttle them down to standing and disassemble them with on ship grinders which makes them very useful.

Could also work on figuring out a safe way to tow ships back to our asteroid.

Lots of Docking clamps
Lots of Engines
Lots of Gyro's
Need engines places "around" target to tow (once docked it counts toward your mass, sort of, and means your ship design is now off balance and will be a bitch and a half to control)

The cargo ships won't explode as long as inertial dampeners aren't turned on....slowing them down or moving them from an external source is absolute safe....

Remember they will be introducing factions SOONTM and the cargo ships onboard turrets will target you....

The final thing you need, (this is vital) is for multiplayer to be optimized and smoothed out....at the moment, destruction is almost garunteed when you factor in client/server side transactions across the globe

(HINT: you jiggle till you explode)

Actually even then it's risky as the game, when it lags tends to forget to calculate physics for an instant. I managed to lock 3 docking clamps onto a mining transport and it was ok for the first 5 seconds then it lagged and it suddenly moved my escape pod inside the transport then it reengaged the physics and everything exploded gloriously.

This has happened to me as well....I've been waiting a few patches for them to optimize a bit, then will get back into it....
