Pretty much well good mate, admittedly I meet I never quite got to grips with KA-50 fully (though I am better at it than I let on really), but yeah one of my all time favourite planes in a super serious sim.

For all your super interceptor delta wing fun and games.

Also Ice I got your text, no means to reply. It'll be sent tomorrow, been fairly busy & stressful here.

Or any form of cooperative DCS for that matter.

When were you getting that new rig again, bane?

I have a HOTAS now and TrackIR and will be building a new PC in the coming weeks. I may look into getting the DCS A-10 ...does that count?

I've also started playing Rise of Flight again, we should all play that too

i think the KA-50 and warthog can fly joint operations, so sure why not.

I honestly think we should stick to the DCS game we started with until we get used to it. KA-50 is pretty deep - id rather learn how to fly that expertly that jump straight into flying a fixed wing aircraft which is quite different.

By fixed wing you mean the A-10?

When you talk of playing it together, is everyone on the same helicopter or (just looked, its a small scout attack vehicle) we all have our own ride to horrible crash....if we all fly and work together in seperate heli's I might could get into that, its alot slower paced than flying a modern fixed wing and would have a more tacticool feeling zooming around at tree top height stalking a tank column or...something....

If your talking about bi-plane fixed wings....Rise of Flight is f2p, its a one to one sim translation of the real thing...but, since its 1916 technology, its pretty simple...you can figure out how to take off within 2 min of starting the game....fighting windage and propeller torque are....interesting though....low speeds, the planes can do some pretty crazy maneuvers, turning on a dime...now that I have a proper flying set up it is a dream game to fly and dog fight in....

You definitely understand and appreciate when in the plane description it reads

"...pilots all praised its ease of flight and smoothing handling characteristics..." <<<That is a legitimately huge deal

There is a steam version but, I did some figuring and I don't think the steam version is a good deal....for one thing, you get two of those planes for free from their site, career mode and a campaign....if you wanted all of those planes you could buy them for around $25 dollars as most are $6 a plane, but if you buy 4 or more they reduce to %50 off, so $3 a plane....6 planes cost around $14 bucks, plus you get career mode etc for free....also, you pick the exact planes you want, not a bundle.....

Yeah KA-50 really is alot of fun - i think the actual helicopter supports up to squads of 4 or 5 linked together with its onboard computer for designating targets etc.

I know there is some officialish/unofficial mod that add support between the a 10 and ka 50 for the same thing but it seems rather odd.

Its worth mentioning that, although id need to refresh myself on its systems, i can cold start the KA-50 and perform the main checks and most of the secondary checks. As such, probably worth sticking with a vehicle we can help each other out on, even though im pretty sure the mig might be simpler.

Anyway tldr really looking forward to these neckbeard sims / flight games as it nears closer to christmas. Ill be playing the shit out of them for sure with you guys.

Its actually been on my todo list that 3 or 4 of us literally go full neckbeard in KA 50 but its never happened for numerous reasons.

This is all way over my head and patience.

Plus I don't have the hardware.

Afaik all DCS modules can play with all other DCS modules, so it doesn't really matter too much.

I'd play KA-50 more often if I could get facetracknoir working properly, basically so it doesn't rotate my head entirely on it's axis forty thousand times when I slightly turn my head.

In regards to Rise of Flight, yeah I'd probs be up for playing it. I've a modicum of flight sims installed at the moment (including the new IL2 & Cliffs of Dover with the Team Fusion patches that are pretty much essential).
