CBT RP Discussion: Rebirth

So some of you have heard ive been meaning to start a Clan Jade Wolf based classic battletech campaign. Due to christmas coming up, I have ample time to write up and get the campaign started in earnest sometime in January.

This campaign will be comprised of two stars, for a total of ten players. This is going to be a serious business RP, utilising IRC and a recent Megamek build. There will be a heavy emphasis on roleplay, I hope it not to just be about Megamek matches.

Although i hate to mention these things, it is highly necessary to get the following out there now. Due to the large player group, everyone needs to act in a mature manner and ensure that they do not disrupt the group as a whole or sessions will take along time to complete.

People who dont will be asked to leave for the good of the group. With that said, the following are the current players that have expressed an interested. Ill need ALL members who are on here to confirm asap so i can decide whether to free up slots for players.

If you want to grab the last slot, do it quickly! If you dont manage to secure a slot, dont worry still express your interest in the thread . Ill always need some people to play NPC characters, and help out in other manners so ill find some way of including you at some point.

Accepted Characters and generating characters

I will be accepting any abhtaka (captured) / bondsman characters, washed up former mechwarriors and dezgra dark caste characters than have a suitable backstory written up for them. This doesnt have to be extensive, one or two paragraphs at most and as long as it makes vague sense, your character will probably be accepted.

Once a character bio has been accepted, I will need to get together with that player to generate their character with them as ive decided to use the AToW ruleset rather than just basic piloting and gunnery skills.

Players can:

Ask for a stat to be emphasised over others
Ask for a skill to be emphasised over others
Pick specialisations as they come up.

Once genned, I wil lallow players to review the generated character and make some changes. Mechs will be assigned by me, so apart from the above there is no other requirement on players.

Yeah I am most def up for this so I confirm again, I have played a few RPGs but Never a Battletech/Mechwarrior one so I will try not to suck too badly.

You can take me off the list for now, clantech (even in small quantities) tends to make things in this game just... silly. Almost as bad as TACs.

Yeah haarp, i told you about this ages ago and you said you wanted in so i saved you a definite space.The game time is going to be around 8 or 9PM GMT when it gets underway, not insane o clock in the morning.

If thats fine with you, i can confirm you as playing?

I can put you down namarah then if you want in, definetly have a few slots to fill.

Its not about 'sucking', its about participating in an RP Trunham lol. I want this to go on awhile, and people wanting to play should expect it to be more than just occasional megamek games but proper RP sessions.

Sweet, well if you get stuck haarp just hit me up next time on IRC and we can go through it.

Im going to generate Ens and Yalks characters first as the bios are done and im pretty happy with them. Need some exp on the way AToW gens characters before i balls deep it with everyones.

I have a preliminary mechlist done as well, but ive decided itll be more fun on the whole to reveal to people what they get in the first session.. it will be glorious.

Im working on Rivs char now. Ens and Yalks are fully done, ill be soon splitting the thread into two. One for game discussion, one purely for the RP.

Threads split, information about the command team released. Waiting on rivs character to get more info form him so i can continue.

Bill has decided he cant commit the time right now, Yalk confirmed by PM that he is more than pleased with his char.

In other news, Toms char is nearly done, ill be doing IceVamps after.

If you havnt sent me a bio, I cant get genning your chars. If you have absolutely no idea where to start, you can post here or pm me and ill help you out best it can.

Do note though Im going to be away from tomorrow until wednesday/trhusday next week mind, so i think the remaining five chars will be genned over the christmas period when i get spare minutes - im going to try to be at least online enough to check the forums and work on peoples bios with them as best i can.

Thats the last time ill be away until after the christmas period.

This is good advice. Technically you could come from anywhere, but you need a good explanation for it to be workable.

Im back now, got a nice head injury as well to go with last weeks training. Blood was everywhere haha.
